What do you do after taking pills out of the cardboard product packaging? Maybe you read few items of information but typically the vast majority of us just put it in the trash can. No big deal, right? It is just a random packaging.

Nevertheless, right behind the simplest pharmaceutical packaging, there is a history and a lot of various requirements and rules that need to be fulfilled.

Alongside with the other stuff, one of many essential restriction here is youngster resistance. We want to bypass a scenario where a child takes the jar or a strip filled with pills and open it without any effort. This will not be the case for any pharmaceutical packaging. Of course, all of us should do everything that is necessary to retain medicaments out of kids. Yet another thing here is that such boxes, bottles or strips need to be senior friendly which means, that a manufacturer has to care for a simple dispensing system together with a safe, easy opening and closing mechanism. All types of pharmaceutical packaging must be hermetically sealed in order to protect its content from different environmental conditions.

So basically, a packaging plays different roles. Apart from the mentioned above, a cardboard box filled with pills plays an essential - from a manufacturer's point of view - marketing part. It should make any pots or boxes visible for the clients. Additionally, that should somehow attract a buyer.

Having in mind the pointed out before requirements, marketing professionals have a hard job. When they plan how a new packaging should look like, they have to think about those specifications and restrictions.
